A couple of our readers had mentioned this gem of a film, Romantics Anonymous, and it’s definitely become our favorite chocolate movie so far!
This sweet little romantic comedy is a French film starring Benoît Poelvoorde and Isabelle Carré, with costar… CHOCOLATE! Chocolate plays a huge role in the plot, and it’s clear that the filmmakers have an appreciation for it. +1 for chocolate! 🙂
Carré plays Angélique, a chocolatier who is so socially anxious that it’s kept her from fulfilling her true potential as a chocolatier. When she finally summons her courage to apply for a chocolate-making position, Poelvoorde’s Jean-René, anxiety-ridden owner of a local chocolate shop, mistakenly puts her to work as a door-to-door salesperson.
It’s the beginning of a hilariously awkward love affair, between two socially anxious people who share a passion for chocolate. We promise you’ll love it!
Michelle Sharp is a chocoholic who lives in the mountains of Washington State. Her proudest chocolate moment occurred on re-entering the US after a trip to France, when the customs agent read her declaration form and said, “You spent over $400 on chocolate?!”
