Chocolate Lip Balm Recipe
3 Tablespoons cocoa butter
3-4 chocolate chips
1 vitamin E capsule
1/4 teaspoon almond extract or olive oil
Put cocoa butter in small, microwave-safe dish and melt in microwave. Add chocolate chips and stir until melted, microwaving again if needed. Add vitamin E and almond extract or olive oil. Stir very well. Store in a small, airtight container. Note: can use more chocolate chips or add cocoa powder as desired.
Mint Chocolate Lip Balm Recipe
1 ounce beeswax
1 ounce cocoa butter
20-30 chocolate chips (a handful)
2 ounces shea butter
1 1/2 ounces olive oil
1 1/2 ounces cocoa oil, shea oil (or other oil)
1 ounce glycerin
10-20 drops peppermint essential oil
Melt beeswax and cocoa butter. Add chocolate chips and mix well. Remove from heat and stir in shea butter and oils. Put back on heat and continue stirring. Add glycerin and stir. Remove from heat and add essential oil. Mix well. Pour into small, airtight containers. Try coconut or orange oil for variety.
Cocoa and Vanilla Lip Gloss Recipe
16 teaspoons sweet almond or peach kernel oil
4 teaspoons beeswax
4 teaspoons cocoa butter
4 teaspoons honey
24 drops vanilla flavor oil
1 teaspoon vitamin E oil
Melt almond oil, beeswax, and cocoa butter, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and add honey, vanilla oil, and vitamin E. Mix well. Pour into small, airtight containers. Makes a dozen.

do i need vitamin e if i don’t want it
Hi Harmony, the vitamin E serves two functions: 1) it acts as a natural preservative, so your lip balm will last longer, and 2) it has some therapeutic benefits. That being said, you don’t have to include it if you don’t want to.
